Document Attestation for UAE

Document attestation for the United Arab Emirates

Are you planning on moving to the United Arab Emirates? Then you’ll need to get certain documents attested before you travel. We at JuridConsult are at your service for document attestation for the United Arab Emirates!

Dutch and European documents for use in the UAE must be legalised by a notary, certified via the Embassy of the UAE in The Hague and, as final step, attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the United Arab Emirates. Instead of arranging each step yourself, JuridConsult can take care of this for you in one sweep.

Legalisation of documents

JuridConsult provides legalisation for documents through the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Netherlands, as well as through the UAE embassies in other European countries, so that your documents are valid for acceptance in the UAE.

We can arrange the legalisation of a variety of Dutch and European documents for the UAE, including but not limited to corporate documents, such as a Chamber of Commerce extracts, annual accounts, powers of attorney, invoices and other legal documents, as well as civil documents like birth, marriage and divorce certificates, medical documents like prescriptions or Certificates of Medicinal Products, Free Sales Certificates and educational diplomas, degrees, certificates and transcripts.

What is legalisation and why do I need it?

As the UAE is not a member of the Apostille Convention abolishing the need for legalisation, your documents must be legalised before being accepted as valid in the country.

This involves three steps:

  1. Notarisation in the Netherlands or the country in which the document was issued;
  2. Certification by the Embassy of the UAE in The Hague or in the respective European country;
  3. Attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE.

Going through each step yourself can be time-consuming, complex and costly. JuridConsult is here to help: we can arrange this for you in one go.

What documents do I need to have legalised before moving to the UAE?

In order to move to the UAE for work, your employer may ask you to provide a number of legalised documents. The most important of these are legalised copies of your:

  • passport
  • diploma
  • birth certificate
  • marriage certificate (if applicable)

The requirements may vary among employers, and they may also ask you to present the following documents:

  • your transcript of records (TOR)
  • certificates or a diploma or degree from your previous school, university or educational institute
  • certificates from your previous employer(s)
  • results of your medical tests for the absence of infectious diseases.

You can find out from your employer precisely which documents you need to have legalised to fit your specific situation.

You may also need to present legalised documents for other purposes, such as setting up a business in the United Arab Emirates or for purchasing property. These documents may include:

  • Powers of Attorney
  • Chamber of Commerce extracts
  • minutes and resolutions
  • financial accounts and annual statements
  • employer declarations and salary slips

JuridConsult can arrange the legalisation of all types of documents for such purposes.

What if my documents were not issued in the Netherlands?

Currently, JuridConsult provides legalisation services for documents issued in the Netherlands as well as in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Hungary or Denmark.

Luis and his team deserve 5 starts! We found them through youtube when I was puzzled with all rules and regulations for my apostille for my birthcertificate which I needed very fast! His movies explained easily what it was, and what needed to be done. We decided to make use of his services, there are many providers but all of them request you sending your birth certificate across seas. I didnt feel comfortable with this but with Luis he accepted a photocopy and organized everything for us within 3 days! I was very amazed by the quickness and the updates from his side. The price was also the best price which I could find on the internet with the best service.

I needed to get a police clearance report (VOG) with apostille. The communication before the process started was very clear, and conducted in a friendly an efficient manner. After a very short verification that I filled the forms correctly, the process was underway. Everything proceeded as promised, and the document was delivered to me within a very reasonable period of time. I'm very thankful for the excellent service JuridConsult provided me with. I would certainly use their services in the future if needed.
