Notarized signature is a confirmation of the authenticity and validity of the signature on the document usually issued or intended for use in a foreign country.
A notary has the right to verify the authenticity of signatures on any documents that do not contain information contrary to law. However, a notary does not verify the authenticity of the contents of the document, but only confirms that the signature was made by a certain citizen. In other words, during the process of verifying the authenticity of the signature a notary is obliged to carry out the establishment of citizen’s identity and/or verification of legal capacity of a legal entity in case it became necessary to verify the authenticity of his representative’s signature. In such a case, a notary checks the documents identifying a citizen as well as power of attorney and other documents certifying the authority of the representative of a legal entity.
